To kick off this new year, our International Student Club has taken the time to coordinate the events for the Winter 2020 short term program. This year’s program consisted of 120+ exchange students from seven different South Korean universities (동명대학교 - 동서울대학교 - 을지대학교 - 실라대학교 - 서울텍대학교 - 독성대학교). Our first event, A Night to Remember, was held on January 8th in room C225 which consisted of many party games, food, and karaoke to entertain the students as well as the opportunity for them to receive raffle prizes.
At the entrance, the international students, along with our local UHWO students were distributed into four large tables. We started the night with quick introductions, next we had our games, in which each table competed to get first dibs on the food line. There was more than enough pizza to go around and as the event progressed, students were able to interact more and enjoy the festivities together. Our goal is just to create a comfortable atmosphere where people can have fun and socialize openly.
It’s always a pleasure to host karaoke night as the first event because it’s a great way to make the students look forward to the upcoming activities and give us a boost in making improvements for the future.
