Let's Skate Away: Ice Palace

January 24th, 2020 is the day we skated away the weekend! The International Student Club and the South Korean exchange students had the opportunity to go to Ice Palace and chillax on the ice. There were over 100 participants that attended the event and we filled up the entire ice rink. Before we entered Ice Palace, the International Student Club and the South Korean exchange students got their 1 hour early to eat dinner. Some ate from Taco Bell, Jack In The Box, Subway, and more.

After having their fill of delicious fast food, they entered and put on their ice skates and took part in the skating lines. Surprisingly, some of the International Student Club and South Korean exchange students did not know how to skate and many UH West Oahu students had the opportunity to help them learn and share some laughs as we all failed together. What matters most is that they got to experience something new and they had a lot of fun!

During the end of the event, some of the inexperienced people have bruises and blisters--even though some may be limping away. A lot of people created great memories that night whether they knew how to skate or not. The International Student Club loves to give opportunity for our members to experience something new and exciting so we hope to enjoy this event with more members in the future!
