September 28th was a Saturday night to remember as our ISC officers and club members met up at the Kapolei Inline Skating Arenas for a club bonding event.
There’s something really satisfying about the natural atmosphere of the skating rink--from the colorful lights illuminating the main floor to the music playing in the background and laughter of others having a good time. This quickly allowed everyone to let loose and have fun without any pressure.
After paying, we all went to up to get our roller skates and awaited our turn to enter the rink. Whether our members were experienced or first-time skaters, everyone was able to enjoy themselves and the night to the fullest. No one is a pro the first time around and those who knew how to skate well took the opportunity to help the first-timers and encouraged each other to practice until they found their balance:
“I feel like it would be a good bonding experience if students learned how to skate together so that they become more comfortable with each other and not feel as embarrassed when they fall.” - Ethan (KRN Committee Officer)
“At first, it was kinda hard to skate but the more I did it, the more I got used to it and it was really fun especially interacting with the new students. I got to know a lot about them and tried to make them feel as comfortable as possible.” - Nicole (KRN Committee Officer)
Overall, the event had a successful turnout and we were all grateful to participate in it. Special thanks to Anthony our ISC president for supervising the event and providing the food and to our Korean Committee Officers for putting it all together. Many awesome memories were made and we are looking forward to our next event!
